Photokina: Top 100 Photography Award, Now with Prizes Worth Over €500,000

August 23, 2018 By PhotoContest.org Leave a Comment

Picanova, a global leader in the bespoke home decoration and lifestyle segment launched the “Top 100 Photography Award” at the beginning of August. Both amateur and professional photographers have the chance to showcase their best photographs, with the best 100 submissions to be selected by a high-profile Judging panel and exhibited during the world’s largest photographic trade fair, Photokina, from 26 to 29 September 2018 in Cologne, Germany.

Being both impressed and excited by the large number photos already submitted, as well as the high quality of the submissions, the Cologne-based company has decided to increase the amount of prizes to create even more award winners from the outstanding contest entrants. The total value of prizes on offer now exceeds €500,000.

“We did not expect such a response from the photographic community, both amateurs and professionals. Many pictures feature extraordinary creativity and quality,” said Daniel Mühlbauer, Founder and CEO of Picanova excitedly. “We wanted to give more photographers a chance to win, and have therefore decided to top up the prizes. We absolutely encourage everyone to take part!”

Anyone can enter the contest, whether as an amateur or professional photographer: the judging panel is most interested in the unique, innovative images and pictures with a “wow” factor.

The photos can be uploaded on Picanova´s new http://www.photo.club website, where photographers can use revolutionary DirectIn Technology to turn photos into products with just a single click. All participants will be given a free PHOTO.CLUB Pro account.

The best 100 photos will be selected by an independent judging panel, consisting of international photo experts including Riccardo Capuzzo, CEO of Design42day magazines and a panel member at the Red Dot Design Awards, as well as Thomas Gerwers, Chief Editor of the leading professional photo magazine “Profifoto”. The photos will be exhibited at Photokina in Hall No. 1, printed on high-quality Alu-Dibond material.
