Panasonic is excited to unveil the LUMIX GH7, the latest flagship model in the Micro Four Thirds mirrorless LUMIX G Series. This advanced camera promises outstanding video performance and a wide dynamic range, thanks to its newly developed 25.2MP BSI CMOS sensor and enhanced AF performance with Phase Detection Auto-Focus (PDAF).
The LUMIX GH7 stands out with its capability to support efficient workflows required in professional production environments. It is newly equipped with internal Apple ProRes RAW recording and boasts a world’s first 32-bit float recording feature. This innovation eliminates the need to adjust sound recording levels during shooting, making it a significant tool for professional video creators.
With the surge in demand for video content, the number of small video production teams is growing, along with the need for high-quality, portable mirrorless cameras. Since its inception in 2009, the LUMIX GH series has garnered a strong reputation among creators and video production teams for its exceptional shooting performance, innovative features, and reliability. The LUMIX GH7 continues this legacy, catering to the needs of creators across various fields.
Main Features
High Performance, Fast Response, and Excellent Mobility
The LUMIX GH7 is equipped with a 25.2MP BSI CMOS sensor that delivers high resolution and fast response times, coupled with a 13+ stop dynamic range boost for rich gradation. It adopts PDAF for high-speed, high-precision AF performance and introduces real-time auto-focus recognition for airplanes and trains. Enhanced image stabilization technology, including perspective distortion correction for videos and a High mode in Active I.S., ensures powerful compensation when shooting on the move.
Enhanced Video Quality and Optimized Workflows
The LUMIX GH7 offers internal recording of 5.7K 30p ProRes 422 HQ and ProRes RAW HQ, along with the groundbreaking 32-bit float recording feature. This eliminates the need for audio level adjustments during shooting when using the new XLR microphone adapter, DMW-XLR2. Users can load original LUT files and apply new color looks directly to videos and photos with REAL TIME LUT. Additionally, the camera supports proxy recording for efficient workflows and native Camera to Cloud integration with Adobe’s Frame.io, enabling automatic uploading, backup, sharing, and collaborative work via the cloud. Open Gate recording allows flexible framing for any social media platform or client needs.
Reliability in the Video Production Field
The LUMIX GH7 ensures unlimited video recording with efficient heat dissipation processing and the integration of a cooling fan. It features a convenient tilt-free angle monitor that does not interfere with HDMI or USB cables when tilted. The camera is built to withstand harsh environments with dust and splash resistance, as well as freeze resistance down to -10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit).
The LUMIX GH7 will be available for purchase in July 2024 at valued channel partners for $2199.99.
