Canon U.S.A., Inc. has introduced the RF35mm F1.4 L VCM1 lens. The RF35mm lens is the first in a new series of fixed focal length RF lenses designed for both video and still photography. The Speedlite EL-10 integrates seamlessly with Canon’s new multi-function shoe design, enhancing the capabilities for users of recent Canon EOS cameras.
The RF35mm F1.4 L VCM lens is set to become a staple for professional photographers and videographers, particularly those using the EOS R5 and EOS C70 cameras. This lens addresses the demand for a fixed focal length option wider than 50mm within the L-series. Its hybrid design caters to low-light conditions, featuring a manual iris ring for precise control during movie shooting. The lens minimizes focus breathing, incorporating two Aspherical lens elements and two ultra-low Dispersion glass elements to ensure superior optical performance characteristic of the L-series. Additionally, it is compatible with the newly announced Canon EOS C400 cinema camera, emphasizing Canon’s commitment to the video market. The RF35mm F1.4 L VCM lens will be available in June at an estimated retail price of $1,499.00.
